LUFC Midfielder hoping for chance

LUFC Midfielder hoping for chance

Leeds United midfielder Adam Clayton is hoping to push for a regular first team place this season.

The 22 year old made just four substitute appearances last season after signing from Manchester City.

He is now hoping to make his mark at the club after the departure of Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson leaves gaps in midfield.

Speaking on the official website, Clayton said, "Last season was quite frustrating, but I signed a deal where I knew I had time here.
"Hopefully this season I will get my fitness levels up and get playing how I was at the end of last season, get in the side and play regularly.
"It doesn`t matter to me who comes in. I think I`m good enough to challenge to get in the side."

Clayton had two spells away from Elland Road last season.

He made eight appearances for Peterborough United around the Christmas period.

The midfielder then finished the season at MK Dons, who he helped reach the play offs before ironically being beaten by Peterborough.
