LUFC Transfer rumour round up

We take another look at the transfer rumours surrounding Leeds in the past week.

With Leeds lack of activity in the transfer market so far this summer, you would expect the media to be full of rumours to do with players joining the club.

I think they have also cottoned onto the fact that old miser Bates isn`t going to dig into his pocket, to bring these so called 'quality` players into Elland Road.

It has been well documented in the press this week that Leeds have been on the verge of signing Andy Lonergan from Preston North End.

At the time of writing this article (Friday). The deal still seems to be stalling with, surprise surprise, the wages being the main obstacle.

Simon Grayson confirmed this week that the club are interested in bring 38 year old goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek to Elland Road but nothing can happen until the club have made room for his mobility scooter.

Grayson also revealed that he would like to bring Eric Lichaj back to the club.

The defender enjoyed a very productive loan spell at Elland Road last season and would be a popular signing amongst most fans.

Another goalkeeper, David Stockdale as again been linked with Leeds.

The Fulham keeper looks to be heading out of Craven Cottage and this is the second time in three weeks that he`s been linked with Leeds.

Huddersfield Town winger Gary Roberts as been linked with a 350,000 move to Leeds with the club facing competition from Crystal Palace.

Rotherham United striker Adam Le Fondre is also being linked.

The 24 year old has enjoyed two very productive seasons for the millers, netting 50 times.

One player who will not be joining Leeds is midfielder Jack Cork who was linked with Leeds back in May.

The midfielder joined Southampton earlier this week.

It has also gone quiet (thankfully) with players going out the door, with no mention of players such as Max Gradel and Robert Snodgrass leaving.

Patrick Kisnorbo was linked with a move to Crystal Palace last week but is back training with Leeds and ready to fight for his Elland Road career over the summer according to the Daily Star.

Who will we be linked with next week? Less than a month to go and we still have just Paul Rachubka.

The papers must be thinking, there is no point linking Leeds with anyone unless they are willing to be paid peanuts.
