LUFC Transfer rumours round up

LUFC Transfer rumours round up

After an hectic week last week with nearly every goalkeeper in the Football League linked with Leeds United, this week went by much quieter.

In fact, last week was more about rumours of players leaving the club than coming to LS11.

The strongest rumour of the week was 38-year-old goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek joining Leeds from Real Madrid.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper spent last season warming the bench at the Bernabeu stadium and would fit in nicely with all the rumoured thirty something`s linked with Leeds.

One strong rumour currently doing the rounds on the Leeds forums is midfielder Jonathan Greening.

The Yorkshire lad is out of contract at Fulham and as been strongly linked with a move to Leeds in the past.

Alan Smith continues to be linked with a move back to Elland Road. Leeds are hoping that Newcastle will pay £45,000 of his £60,000 a week wages to secure the move.

Some players who have been linked with Leeds during the summer find new clubs. Neil Danns (Crystal Palace) joins Leicester City, Tommy Spurr (Sheffield Wednesday) joins Doncaster Rovers and Torsten Frings (Werder Bremen) signs for Toronto.

There seems to be more rumours with players leaving Elland Road this week.

Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City) and Bradley Johnson (Norwich City) complete their moves away from Leeds.

Player of the year Max Gradel is the main talking point with West Ham United rumoured to be leading the chase.

Fulham and Swansea City continued to be linked with the Ivory Coast international whilst Leeds boss Simon Grayson says the club have received no written offers for him.

Striker Luciano Becchio is linked with a £3 million move to new Premier League side Swansea City.

Out of contract, Patrick Kisnorbo is linked with fellow Championship side Crystal Palace.

Kisnorbo missed most of last season through injury. Boss Simon Grayson said that the Australian international would return to Leeds for pre season and hopefully prove his fitness and earn a new deal.

Leeds are reported to be negotiating a new contract with Robert Snodgrass.

The Scottish international has two years left on his current contract and Leeds slap an £8 million price tag on the player who`s been chased by Norwich City during the summer.

With the players now back in training and the first pre season friendly a little over a week away, fans will be hoping to see some players coming into Elland Road over the next week.

If you hear of any transfer rumours then please let us know on the Vital Leeds forum.
