We now move into 2011 as we look back on last season with Leeds joint second in the Championship.

Leeds start the New Year with an early kick off on New Years Day against Middlesbrough at home.

Luciano Becchio salvages a point in injury time after a host of missed chances.

Leeds still had time to almost clinch all three points but Ross McCormack diverted his header wide from close range.

Andy O`Brien agrees to join Leeds on a full term deal after enjoying two months on loan at Elland Road.

Cardiff City are next up for Leeds on a Tuesday evening.

Leeds last lost in October when Cardiff left Elland Road with all three points and they bring Leeds twelve match unbeaten run to an end with a 2-1 victory.

Robert Snodgrass looked like he had salvaged a point for Leeds in the second half when he made it 1-1, but poor defending allowed Michael Chopra to score the winner in the last fifteen minutes.

Leeds duo Simon Grayson and Max Gradel are nominated for Manager and Player of the month respectively after the club remained unbeaten during December.

Leeds are once again in the national spotlight when they travel to Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.

9,000 Leeds fans make the trip to the Emirates and they almost come away celebrating another famous victory.

Robert Snodgrass gives Leeds the lead from the penalty spot in the second half and they look like hanging on for the win until Cesc Fabregas equalises from the spot in the final minute of the game.

The winners will face Huddersfield Town at home in the fourth round after the draw is made.

Leeds sign young defender Zac Thompson from Everton on a short-term deal.

Amdy Faye is released by Leeds, whilst Ramon Nunez extends his deal until the end of the season.

There is mixed news in the monthly awards. Simon Grayson finally wins a manager of the month award but Max Gradel misses out on the player of the month.

Lubomir Michalik leaves Leeds and joins League One side Carlisle United after spending the first half of the season on loan with the Cumbrian side.

George McCartney extends his loan spell until the end of the season after joining the club on loan in September.

Leeds return to league action and hit Scunthorpe for four. Sanchez Watt scores his first goal for the club, as well as strikes from Max Gradel, Bradley Johnson and Davide Somma; give Leeds their highest league win of the season so far.

Young defender Liam Darville is released from his contract after spending the first half of the season on loan at Tranmere Rovers.

Leeds and Arsenal meet in their FA Cup replay at Elland Road. Despite a superb strike by Bradley Johnson, Leeds bow out of the competition after a 3-1 defeat.

Mike Grella is set to join Motherwell on loan but the deal falls through.

Andy Hughes leaves Leeds and joins Scunthorpe United.

Leeds have to come from behind twice to earn a point at Portsmouth.

Goals from Luciano Becchio and Davide Somma earn the point but Leeds felt they lost momentum when the game was twice held up for floodlight failures.

Adam Clayton returns to Leeds after a loan spell at League One side Peterborough United.

Aidan White joins League One side Oldham Athletic on loan as the transfer window is nearing its closure.

The transfer window closes with little movement coming into Elland Road.

Only goalkeeper David Gonzales joins from Manchester City.

A number of players leave Elland Road. Federico Bessone joins Charlton Athletic on loan and the club releases all Jason Crowe, Alan Martin and Tom Elliott.

One surprise is Neil Collins who signs for Sheffield United just four months after joining Leeds.

Leeds finish the month in fifth place in the championship with just four points separating the top five.

Next week we will be looking back at February when Leeds loses just one game. Draws start to ruin Leeds chance of promotion as they continue to leak goals.
