LUFC Vital Blackpool Paul Rachubka Q & A

Members from Vital Blackpool have taken time to answer a few questions about Leeds latest recruit, goalkeeper Paul Rachubka who was released from Bloomfield Road at the end of last season.

AbelBFC, SeasideEssexXile and Hastings have all taken time to answer these questions.

Were you disappointed to see him leave?

AbelBFC: Yes and no. Yes in the sense that he has been a good servant to the club, no in the sense that it hasn't really worked out for him under Holloway.

SeasideEssexXile: No. We grew at a pace he couldn't keep up with.

Hastings: No I was really pleased he's gone to a decent club

Where do you think it went wrong for him at Blackpool?

AbelBFC: He started as Holloway's first choice but got dropped after a 4-1 defeat to Palace (in the season we went up). Would have had his chance this season but spent all but one game crocked.

SeasideEssexXile: His inability to convince Holloway he was the number 1 (it was his to lose).

Hastings: Easy - he was sent off in the opening few minutes of Palace away. He got a terrible back pass and took the player and received a straight red. Gilks came on and was immense. The defence looked more solid than they had ever been, caught everything, commanded his box and made some good saves. We got a draw. Gilks form was very good and poor Rabs was out having taken one for the team.

What are his strength`s and weaknesses?

AbelBFC:
Strength: Reflexes, he makes some incredible saves.

Weaknesses: His distribution is mixed, but his overwhelming weaknesses are his inability to command his area and his inability to deal with balls into the box (rarely comes off his line to claim the ball).

SeasideEssexXile: Great shot stopper, woeful at crosses, corners and is super glued to his line, if he ever comes off his line he looks like he's on acid.

Hastings: Shot stopping fantastic. Catching, commanding his area, catching, staying on his line and catching.
The guy is a great shot stopper, sometimes unbelievable, however and this is his problem, is that he stays on his line and punches lamely when there appears to be a relatively easy catch

Will he get a good reception when he returns to Bloomfied Road with Leeds in April?

AbelBFC: He will get a decent one, yes. He played a big part in us getting up to the Championship and staying there.

SeasideEssexXile: Yes

Hastings: We owe him that for sure. Decent lad and reasonable keeper, did I mention though he can't catch

Did you have any chants for him?

AbelBFC: USA, USA, USA!

SeasideEssexXile: Staying on his line forever, you'll never see him win, na na nanana, we were so proud, he was once a favourite with our crowd, RABS RABS RABS

Hastings: Catch it for God's sake or USA, USA etc boring

Thanks for the member of Vital Blackpool for answering these questions. It looks like we will be in for a nervous ride if he is to be the Leeds number one next season.

Very worrying answers, we have desperately needed a keeper who commands his area for years. Someone who can clean up behind the defence and claim everything that comes into the area. SeasideEssexxile: Very clever with the chant.

Thats all we need is someone else who doesn't command his area and is rubbish on crosses. We'd better sign a big centre back and decent full backs then.
