LUFC No final appearance for Nunez

Ramon Nunez can finally enjoy his summer holidays after Honduras were knocked out of the Gold Cup in America.

Nunez once again came off the bench for Honduras in their semi final against reigning champions Mexico.

The midfielder came off the bench in the 61st minute but couldn`t help Honduras reach the final, as they were beaten 2-0 in extra time, in front of over 70,000 fans in Houston.

Mexico scored twice in the first half of extra time and Honduras were further hindered when Ramirez Espinoza was sent off with five minutes remaining.

Mexico will now meet hosts USA in the final on Sunday.

Nunez will be hoping to make a breakthrough in the Leeds first team next season after just two substitute appearances during the 2010/11 season.

The 25 year old enjoyed a successful loan spell at fellow Championship side Scunthorpe United towards the end of the season, scoring three goals in eight appearances.

Nunez signed a new one-year deal at the end of the season after originally signing on a short-term deal last season.

Hard luck Honduras 70 thousand at this game' some crowd...And hopefully Nunez will make the breakthrough into the first team squad'' for the 2011/12 season'' and help Leeds get promoted he's waited long enough'' to show if he can do a job which I'm sure he can...

Will he get a decent run of games at E R, we'll have to wait and see

Lets hope it's a similar scenario to Somma last season. Give him a chance and lets see what he can do.

He needs time on the pitch, he could have the same impact that Somma and Gradel made last season. How can a regular international footballer who has played in world cups not get a chance in the side. I know he said he needed to get used to the English game last season, I think he was just saying this to actually get a few games at a club. Another strange one from Grayson.
