LUFC Leeds face West Yorkshire derby

Leeds United have been given a West Yorkshire derby in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Bradford City will visit Elland Road in the week commencing 8th August.

The two sides last met in the competition in the third round in 1998 when Leeds won 1-0 thanks to a Harry 'Judas` Kewell goal.

The teams met in recent season in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in 2008 when goals from Andy Robinson and Luciano Becchio secured a 2-1 win.

Games between the two sides have been rare, with only thirteen previous games at Elland Road.

Leeds have won nine, Bradford one and there have been three draws in the previous encounters.

Should make for a good atmosphere with Bradford bringing a fair few just down the road. I hope the club stick to the prices of the early rounds in the past few season and don't charge normal price just because its a local derby.

Should get a reasonable crowd as Bradford should bring a few

Wshould be looking at 25,000 plus for a carling cup first round tie. Nice to have the ground three quarters full rather than a quarter full for the first round.
