LUFC Leeds pushing ahead with museum plans

Leeds United have submitted plans to Leeds City Council to include a museum in the redeveloped East Stand at Elland Road.

Leeds have sent plans to the council and are awaiting approval to include a museum at the ground.

The club, formed in 1919 following the demise of Leeds City, have a long and illustrious history that as included three Championship titles, FA and League cup success, as well as being one of the leading clubs in Europe during the 60`s and 70`s under Don Revie.

The East Stand as been undergoing redevelopment since March and despite being on the initial plans for the redevelopment, it was not included in the initial phase one development submitted to the local council.

The fastest growing Leeds United supporters club in the South of England, with almost 200 members since it`s formation in April 2009, travel to all games home and away.

The branch has pick up points at Basingstoke, Reading, Didcot, Abingdon, Oxford, Bicester and Banbury and will consider other pick up points on request.

It is something I will look forward to seeing when it's completed. Also when my lad is old enough to come to Elland Road with me it will be the first place I take him just so he can see what the club is all about. This is certainly one of Bates better ideas.

So much history to go and see at the club. Lets hope if it does get the go ahead its reasonably priced for fans and families to go see.

Huddersfield did same thing when they moved grounds and someone broke into trophy room and nicked everything ... last I knew police were looking for someone with a blue carpet

Maybe we can have KB stuffed and put in there as an anciant artifact of a toubled period.
