LUFC Leeds to release Higgs
Leeds United have decided to release goalkeeper Shane Higgs from his contract when it expires at the end of June.
The 33 year old has made just seven appearances this season as number two to regular goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Higgs hasn`t played since suffering an injury in the defeat at Ipswich at the start of October.
Leeds boss Simon Grayson was quick to thank Higgs for the contribution he made during his two seasons at Elland Road, speaking on the official website , he said, "I`d like to thank Shane for all his efforts while he has been here. He did well for us last season and has proved good competition for us this."
The shot stopper was signed by Leeds in the summer of 2009 and he helped the club to promotion from League One in his first season, making twenty-two appearances.
Higgs has been told he is free to look for another club.
