LUFC Kisnorbo hoping for Leeds future

Leeds United defender Patrick Kisnorbo is hoping to remain at Elland Road past the end of this season.

The Australian international is out of contract in the summer and hasn`t played for Leeds since suffering an Achilles injury against Millwall in March last year.

Despite missing the last few seasons of last month, the defender was named the clubs Player of the season after helping lead Leeds towards promotion with some stirring performances at the heart of the defence.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kisnorbo said, "I`m out of contract this year, so I can`t even say where I`ll be next year, although I hope to be here.
"But I have no idea, I haven`t spoken to anyone. Hopefully I`ll have an opportunity next year.
"Hopefully, there`s more highs than lows to come.
"There`s a terrific fan base here and great people to work with and coaching staff. It`s a great place and a club I`d like to stay at. They`ve been very welcoming to me."

Kisnorbo is now back in full training and is hoping to be considered for the squad in Leeds last Championship game of the season at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Paddy wants to stay and we all want him to stay if he is fit. If he plays on Saturday we will have a good idea where he is (fitness wise) and a pre season should see him okay for next term.

I have said it before, if nothing else I hope we can offer him a short term deal so we can assess his fitness. If he can prove himself then offer him a longer deal. I don't want us wasting wages on a bloke on the sidelines but a fully fit Kisnorbo is worth taking a gamble with as he would walk into our side.

A fully fit Kisnorbo would have been a godsend at the back this season, a proven leader, lets hope he's ready for next season
