LUFC Hard work paying off for Kisnorbo

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is delighted with the progress being made by injured defender Patrick Kisnorbo after his long-term injury.

Kisnorbo hasn`t been seen in a Leeds shirt since suffering an Achilles injury in the home game with Millwall in March of last season.

The injury was a cruel blow for the defender, who had played an instrumental part in Leeds season up to that point, which earned him the player of the year award at the end of the season, despite missing the final two month`s of the season.

It also forced him the miss the World Cup in South Africa with his native Australia, as he required surgery on the injury.

Kisnorbo is now moving ever closer to a return to fitness and Grayson is delighted that all the hard work down by his defender is finally paying off. Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, 'Paddy has worked really, really hard and has got to the stage now where he's been able to join in the warm-up and do some ball-work.
'It's been a long, hard road for him and where he is now is really encouraging. There's still no timescale but we're really pleased with how he's coming along.'

The 30 year old is out of contract in the summer after signing a two-year deal when he signed from Leicester City in 2009.

I really hope we can offer him a new deal, even if it's just 12 months to start with.

Don't see why a one year deal couldn't be arranged, needed wish we had another C H with his determination and ability now

I think he will be offered a short term contract (six months to Jan window) to see if he is fit to play. If he is fine if not he will get a medical retirement.
