LUFC Youngster signs Leeds deal

Leeds United have given a professional contract to Zac Thompson after impressing since his arrival from Everton.

Thompson has been given an initial twelve-month contract with the option of a further year.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson is delighted to secured Thompson`s future at Elland Road, speaking on the official website he said, 'Zac's done well, we feel he's got a good future. He's got a good work ethic and plenty of potential.
'He's now got time to develop and we'll be looking to see him pushing to be in and around the first team.'

The 18 year old as been a regular for both the reserves and the under 18`s since arriving from Everton, initially on trial back in December.

Erni as always spoke really highly of him when watching the reserves. When I was doing some research about him when he first joined Leeds I can remember reading that he signed for Everton at 5 years old. They wouldn't take a punt on such a youngster if he didn't already have some skill.

Basically he is a proper defender who has the pace to attack and not a 'wing back' who cant defend like a few we have had lately.
