LUFC No Leeds players in PFA Team of the Year

Leeds United failed to have any of their players included in the Championship PFA Team of the Year despite being in the top six for the vast majority of the season.

The team of the year is regarded as the highest accolade in the league as their fellow professionals pick it after a short list is drawn up by the PFA back in January.

Runaway leaders for most of the season Queens Park Rangers had two players included, as well as fellow top six sides Norwich City and Swansea City, with seven different sides from the Championship being represented in total.

Two former Leeds players made the list with defender Ian Harte, who is enjoying an excellent season at Reading and the Championships current leader goalscorer Danny Graham at Watford.

Leeds have had a representative in the team of the year in the previous three seasons.

During their three-year stay in League One, Jermaine Beckford (2008), Fabian Delph (2009), Patrick Kisnorbo, and Robert Snodgrass (2010) all made the team.

The last time a Leeds player made the Championship team of the year was Gary Kelly during the 2005/06 season.

Full Team

Ashley Williams - Swansea City
Ian Harte - Reading

Wes Hoolahan - Norwich City
Adel Taarabt - Queens Park Rangers
Scott Sinclair - Swansea City

As it's normally voted on at the end of January I thought we might get one in at least.

I think if they had done a reserve list we would have been struggling to get people in.

I a sure Ian Harte was keen on a move back to Leeds before he went to Reading. The only reason we didn't sign him must be that he is a good defender !
leeds_lad
Hardly suprising with the defence but thought we stood a chance with Mad Max and Jonny

I think you have to look at those picked, who you have put Jonny and Max ahead of any of them. I really rate King and Hoolahan and would love the pair at ER and Sinclair and Taarabt have probably been the two best players in the Championship this season.

How Gradel hasn't got in the mix is mystery to me?
