LUFC Forest lose Cohen appeal

LUFC Forest lose Cohen appeal

Nottingham Forest have lost their appeal against the red card shown to Chris Cohen at Leeds on Saturday.

The midfielder was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Leeds defender George McCartney that caused confrontation both on the pitch and between the benches of both sides.

Premier League referee Mark Halsey who was in charge of the game at Elland Road described the challenge as 'with excessive force` and decided to show a straight red card after consultation with his assistant nearest the incident.

Forest decided to appeal the red card after Forest manager Billy Davies reviewed the incident.

The FA regulatory commission upheld the decision made by Halsey and Cohen will now serve a three-match ban.
