LUFC Howson earns second call up

Leeds United midfielder Jon Howson has been drafted into the England under 21 squad for next weeks friendly with Iceland.

The 22 year old made his England debut last month as a second half substitute in the 1-0 defeat in Italy.

Howson will not be part of the squad that flies out to Denmark for a friendly on Thursday, but he will join up with the squad on their return ready, for the friendly against Iceland next Monday.

The game will take place at Preston`s Deepdale ground and can be seen live on the FA website.

Howson becomes the eighth Leeds player to be included in international squads this week.

Great for him to earn another call up but he could have done with a break before the run in. He's played every game this season a rest would have done him good. A daft time to be having internationals.
