'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Return unlikely for Kisnorbo

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson as all but ruled out Patrick Kisnorbo for the season.

The Australian international hasn`t played since suffering an Achilles injury against Millwall in March last year.

In an interview, the Leeds boss said, "Paddy is doing his rehab, which includes a bit of running, but at the back of our minds we have ruled him out for the rest of the season.
"If he does play any football before the season`s end it will be a bonus for us. He has been out for so long that little complications can develop along the way. He has made a good recovery so far and the next stage is to get him stepping back on grass."

The popular defender made 35 appearances for Leeds last season to help Leeds to promotion and he picked up a number of accolades including Player of the season.

Kisnorbo is in the final year of his two-year contract since signing from Leicester City in the summer of 2009.

Gutted for him, he had the same problem at Leicester with injuries. I think he would have been a regular in the Premier League for any club had he avoided injuries during his career. I think if we go up we wont see him play for Leeds again. I hope if there is nothing to play for in the final game of the season he could get the last ten minutes at least. I know one man doesn't make a team but if we'd had him at the back this season we would be top of this league as we wouldn't have conceded nearly half as many goals.

Shame but not unexpected, the defence would have been more solid with him, on the bright side he should be raring to go next season

No room for sentiment unfortunately and even iconic players reach their sell by date and managers have to be tough and grasp the nettle. Thanks Paddy and all the best but I dont expect to see you pull on the white shirt again.
