LUFC Preston v Leeds Head to Head

Vital Leeds looks at the head to head record between Preston North End and Leeds United at Deepdale through the years.

The two sides have met on 23 occasions with Preston winning 13, Leeds 5 and 5 draws.

The first time the two clubs met was during the 1924/25 season when Leeds left Deepdale with a 4-1 victory thanks to two goals apiece from Whipp and Powell.

Preston enjoyed their first win the next time the two sides met during the 1927/28 season when they won 5-1 with Leeds consolation goal coming from White.

The last time the two sides met was during Leeds relegation season of 2006/07 when Preston won 4-1 with the Leeds goal coming from David Healy.

Leeds won a classic play off encounter in the 2005/06 season. After drawing the first leg 1-1 at Elland Road, Leeds won at Preston 2-0 thanks to goals from Rob Hulse and Fraser Richardson, in a game that saw them finish the match with just nine men after the dismissals of Stephen Crainey and Richard Cresswell.
