LUFC Fans view v Barnsley

Tiny T gives us his usual fans view, this time from the frustrating 3-3 draw with Barnsley.

Schmeichel 5

Not commanding his area as he should, distribution awful. He stood little chance in saving any of the goals.

Lichaj 8 Star man
Raided well down the right and defended well probably the only one who put a shift in.

O'Brien 5
Brought in to add experience and organisation, little of that been shown lately.

Bruce 6
Over worked with those either side of him faltering.

McCartney 3
Looks good when attacking but consistently caught out defending.

Snodgrass 4
At fault for the second goal, not at his best, looked jaded.

Howson 7
Worked hard but to little effect with those around falling by the wayside.

Kilkenny 5
Its taken over two years but he finally put a quality ball in the box and we scored. Again tackled like a fairy without wings, missing for periods.

Johnson 3
Stupidity got him sent off and it changed the game, tackling poor, another missing for long periods

Gradel 7
Like Howson and Lichaj, he got stuck in both up front and at the back, exquisite second goal should have won it.

Becchio 5
Got the equaliser but won little in the air/

Subs
Somma 4

The wrong sub in my opinion as he won't fight for the ball, he doesn't win headers and we were launching it to him.

Watt 4
Little chance to shine and gave the free kick away that led to the third goal.

Summary
Defensively we are a nightmare; concentration levels are poor and led to goals early in each half.
To move out of the wall and turn your back is a schoolboy error, which is how we defend most of the time.
Grayson needs to spend time on the training pitch sorting out this woeful defending, we look capable of scoring at anytime but also look like conceding as well.
We had players arguing. Lets put it down to passion and a bad night at the office.
A friend went with me tonight who does not attend many games and their opinion was that if you look at what we concede its a good job we score a lot as if we didn't we'd be relegation fodder.
Looking forward we didn't lose and its on to Swansea with a dinner time kick off, lets get back to basic's a clean sheet and three points.

Finally - Clattenberg was appalling as a Referee, how does he manage in the Premier League, if Johnson hadn't have started to walk I don't think he'd realised he'd booked him already.

Thanks once again Tiny for your views.

I personally would have given Gradel man of the match, as the song goes ' He's here he's there, he's every ...... where'. I think apart from Gradel, Lichaj and Howson the rest were lucky to score over 4. I thought McCartney was absolutely shocking, even simple balls he managed to give away. The centre of midfield was very weak and Johnson once again in particular was very poor. Looks like he's back to his normal ways. His sending off was the result of some sloppy play when he gave the ball away. I think your right about Clattenberg, I usally like this ref but I thought he was very poor and I must admit that I didn't think the penaly was a penalty. I don't think he realised he'd booked Johnson like you said. Too many players had an off night and I never think Somma looks the same player when he's on his own up front.

lichaj 8 are you having a laugh??

Good report Tiny and pretty much as I saw it. I wouldnt see any scoring over 5 other than the three you mentioned. I though Kasper was particularly poor tonight and jusr didnt command any respect in his area. I was glad to see Killa provide a goal winning cross but lets admit it was a big goalkeeping error and he should have had it for catching practice. But at least it cleared the front man which Snoddy didnt do all night. We were fortunate with the penalty as well and Clattenburgh realised it or he would have sent off the defender but definately didnt realise he had already booked Johnson as he was walking away until the Barsley players got on at him. Again not clinical when we were on top at the end of first half when we should have put another two in but Becchio was off the boil with his feet.

I come on here every week to laugh at tiny's stats - not this week though - he's got em bang on - and what score would you have given lichaj scotty ?? (I thought he was by far best player)
