LUFC Fans view v Norwich City

Tiny T gives us his usual fans view, this time from the game with Norwich City

Schmeichel 6

Stood no real chance with either goal and made a couple of decent saves. Distribution his weakest area and needs improvement.

Lichaj 7
Decent game, he supported down the right well and is settling in ok after two games.

O'Brien 6
Neither he nor Bruce look comfortable when the ball is crossed in, a problem that needs sorting.

Bruce 6
See above comments.

McCartney 7
He again supported down the left well, caught out at times when defending.

Snodgrass 7
Teased the defender and should have made more of the ball at times. Should have fed either Howson or Becchio, both who were better placed but tried to blast it through himself.

Johnson 6
A better first 60 minutes, he had a poor last half hour.

Kilkenny 6
What is his role? He is either too far forward or too far back.

Howson 8 Star man
Strong running display and with more luck would have made it 2-0, close on a couple of occasions as well. Never stopped.

Gradel 7
At times wasted the ball with others better placed, some occasional decent balls into the box. He got back well to help out as well.

Becchio 7
A goal and an assist, his usual hard working performance for Leeds.

Subs
Somma 6

He scored with his first touch and some other useful work around the box.

Paynter
He nearly got the winner; will he ever score for Leeds?

Summary
A game we should have had won by half time and an injustice to be behind in the second half, we need to convert our chances when we have them.

Yet again defensive blunders let the opposition in, again we need to sort this out urgently.

Thanks Tiny for your views.

I thought Kasper was at fault for the second goal, Hoolahan is never going to score if he stays on the line. Lichaj - looks good, got a fantastic engine and speed to match, his overlapping runs made lots of space for Snodgrass and others around him. I thought Bruce and O'Brien did ok, a great tussle went on with Holt and wasn't it good to see O'Brien give Holt a crack just minutes after Holt had done him. Not very often you see players get away with that nowadays. McCartney - had his usual game down the left, looks better attacking than defending. Gradel - had two or three men on him everytime he went near the ball and I think his team mates have given up on him passing the ball as he often lacked support. Snodgrass - world class going forward but I thought he left Lichaj terribly exposed especially in the first half and the equalising goal came from lack of support from midfield. Johnson - I thought was the poorest Leeds player today, but I'm not saying he had a bad game, he was just average. Kilkenny - Does what he does but as usual gets no recognition for it. Gets the ball from the back and plays an easy pass to those that can hurt the opposition. He did get forward today and he had a few good chances to do a little more in the final third, but rabbit in headlights comes to mind. Howson - On another day could have had an hat trick easily, almost played up front alongside Becchio. Becchio - Back to himself yesterday after a few quiet games, battled and harried their defence. Not sure about the goal celebration but I'd quite happily see it every Saturday. Somma - The substitution could have happened ten minutes earlier and it was the right one to make. As soon as the ball dropped to him there was only ever going to be one result. His control is fantastic, he pulls the ball out of the sky likes he's trapping a bag of cement. Another fantastic goal. Paynter - Oh Billy, Oh Billy, Oh Billy, Oh Billy, Oh Billy, Oh Billy you will never score for Leeds. He needs one to go in off his a**e as he just isn't having the luck in front of goal. Overall - One of the most enjoyable games I have witnessed at Elland Road in many years, it was a shame it had to end. Two good teams who are deservedly where they are in the table. On another day we could have had eight or nine and we really should have been out of sight at half time.

Agree Daz it was a great game to watch and your assessment of the players is spot except for Killa. He does what he does as you say, as long as it isnt going to hurt or exert him too much. He is a Championship water carrier who will not get involved in hard work.He had a decxent first half hour but he could have been subbed earlier as his contribution stopped completely around 55 mins when Norwich turned the power on. "Rabbit in the headlights" read timid and doesnt know what to do in a tough situation. I thought (other than Johnson) the team played really well and like you I am very impressed with Lichaj and thoght Howson was desperatley unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Kasper was caught out for their second rushing in when he should have stayed where he was but other than that had a good game.

Max was star man for me - and becchio was a poor shadow yesterday
simonfire1
I thought Becchio was back to himself yesterday as he's been missing recently. As much as I stick up for Kilkenny I called the substitution and wanted it earlier but that was more to do with needing another goal.
dazza71
Despute missing chances I thought Howson was the leader again.
king billy
We called the Kilkenny substitution before the match kicked off we are predictable
