LUFC Snodgrass staying put

Leeds United midfielder Robert Snodgrass says he`s no intention of leaving the club.

The 23 year old won his first full cap for Scotland in midweek and he capped of a fantastic week with a man of the match performance in the 2-0 win at Bristol City on Saturday.

Fans will start to worry that his form will be getting plenty of attention from sides in the Premier League, who could come knocking in the summer if Leeds fails to win promotion.

Snodgrass does not intend to leave Elland Road, speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Snodgrass said, 'They gave me my chance down here.
'If the club ever wanted to get rid of me then that would be up to them but I've got a contract here and I'm staying put.'

Snodgrass joined in the summer of 2008 from Livingston and he signed a new improved contract in the summer of 2009, tying him to the club until 2013.

Snodgrass missed the first eight games of the season after suffering an injury whilst on pre season tour duty in Norway.

Since his return, the midfielder has been influential in Leeds climb up the table and he has also chipped in with seven goals, remarkably all away from Elland Road.

He`s already a leading contender for Leeds goal of the season with superb strikes at Coventry City, Cardiff City, Leicester City, Hull City and Bristol City.

Do you think he likes playing against teams with City in their names. Really looking forward to Norwich and Swansea in the next few weeks now. I hope he's as good as his word but if we don't go up this season I think we will find it very hard to keep hold of him. He was the one player in the summer that I was confident would have no problem of stepping up to the Championship and I feel the same about a step up to the Premier League. The lad is on fire at the moment.

Class act down the right at the moment, long may it continue

It will be hard to keep him and Max if big bids come in for them if we dont get promoted. We have seen numerous examples of players pledging loyalty only to be gone in weeks when the both the agent and club are tempted by a large bid. Lets hope his class takes us up and we dont have to worry about it.

It would only take a great offer from someone for Bates to start rubbing his hands together. Obviously we would then never see the money again!
