LUFC Sam and Paynter on target in friendly win

A strong Leeds United side beat Sheffield United 2-1 in a behind closed doors friendly at Thorp Arch on Tuesday afternoon.

With no game this weekend and the reserve team fixture with Lincoln City postponed boss Simon Grayson took the opportunity to give some of his fringe players some much needed time on the pitch.

Youngster Zac Thompson who recently signed from Everton came off the bench and the Jordan Snodin, the son of former Leeds United favourite Ian Snodin was also given some time on the pitch.

Billy Paynter opened the scoring for Leeds but they had to settle for going in at the break all square after a young Sheffield United side equalised just before the break.

Lloyd Sam scored the winner for Leeds as he played the full ninety minutes after recently returning from injury.

Paynter keeps scoring in these games, about time he did it in the real games.

This is the first goal that Paynter has scored for Leeds and it's in the reserves, good to see Sam get on the score sheet after been out injured...
iwa
Paynter as scored quite a few goals for the reserves and behind closed doors friendlies.

About time he started doing it in the important first team games. Now Somma is back in I think he's going to have to wait a while.
