LUFC Nunez wins top award

Leeds United attacking midfielder Ramon Nunez has come away with the Most valuable player award at the recent Copa CentroAmerica competition as he helped Honduras win the final.

Nunez played an influential part to help Honduras reach the final, scoring twice during the group stages.

He was forced to miss the semi final win over El Salvador through injury, but returned in time for the final.

Nunez played the 90 minutes in the final as they beat Costa Rica 2-1 to win the tournament for a third time.

The 25 year old recently extended his stay at Elland Road until the end of the season after initially signing a short-term deal after impressing whilst on trial.

Leeds also have the option to extend the deal by a further year if they wish.

He dedicated his award to the people of his home country Honduras after accepting the award.

The attacking midfielder will now be hoping to force his way into the Leeds side on his return to the club.

Nunez has made just two substitute appearances so far against Cardiff City and Coventry City.
