LUFC Kilkenny wants to stay

Leeds United midfielder Neil Kilkenny says he wants to stay at Elland Road past the end of his current deal that finishes at the end of this season.

Kilkenny is currently on international duty with Australia where he has made two substitute appearances for the Socceroos, who have reached the semi final stages.

The midfielder is waiting for Leeds to come back to him after negotiations between the two parties have taken place.

Speaking about the situation, Kilkenny said, 'There's nothing to discuss about my contract at the moment.
'Discussions have started, they have been going on for a long time so we'll wait and see when I get back.
'At the end of the day if Leeds want to keep me they know I want to stay, so the ball is in their court.'

Kilkenny is one of a number of first team players whose contracts were up at the end of the season.

Leeds have already agreed a new deal with Luciano Becchio who signed a new three and a half year deal before Christmas.

Bradley Johnson has been placed on the transfer list after his representatives and Leeds failed to agree a new deal.

That to me reads, I have told Leeds how much I want, if they don't want to pay it then I will be off.

Bates wont be held to ransom so if you are looking for an increased offer Kilkenny I think you will be disappointed.
