LUFC Grayson - That's whetted the appetite

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is hoping that the two games with Arsenal have wetted the appetites of his players to do it on a regular basis with a return to the Premier League.

Leeds bowed out of the FA Cup in the replay at Elland Road after Arsenal made no mistake with a classy performance in a 3-1 win.

Grayson is now hoping that his players can build on the two games with Arsenal and continue with their promotion push out of the Championship and back into the Premier League.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Grayson said, 'Hopefully the ambition of the players can be fulfilled here - we are not a selling club and don't need to sell anybody.'
'This has whetted the appetite for players to face these sorts of teams on a weekly basis and I believe we have come out of the two games with a lot of credit.'

Leeds get back to league action on Saturday when they travel to face Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

The two sides only met just over three weeks ago at Leeds when they shared six goals in a 3-3 draw.

Hate to be pedantic but it's whetted, not wetted. Anyway on yesterday's perfomance you guys wouldn't be out of your depth in the Premiership.

Most sides in the Premmier League would have struggled against Arsenal last night not just us.

Thats got me wanting a return to the Premier League, I am just glad we wouldn't have to face Arsenal every week. [Edited by Dazza71]

Have to say your home and away support is epic. If we had that sort of backing at the Emirates we'd frighten most teams to death! Good luck with promotion.

Yes, good luck. You are a sleeping giant and you deserve to be in the Premiership. I remember the 1972 cup final well and the team that beat Southampton 7-0 (or was it 7-1?) when you embarrassed them by playing keep-ball. I also vaguely remember a European Cup match in the seventies against Real Madrid (someone will have to put me right on this) where you were on top for the whole game but lost it 0-2 after two breaks. Even I felt the injustice after that one. See you in the Prem next year.
Sir Henry
For the ones over 25 we are used to what the Premier League had to offer. Just need to get back to it.
