LUFC McCartney happy to be back

George McCartney is delighted to be back at Elland Road after signing on loan until the end of the season.

The experienced defender enjoyed three months on loan at Leeds in the first half of the season, before returning to parent club Sunderland after the Portsmouth game during the festive period.

McCartney was glad to be back at Elland Road and went straight back into the side for the 4-0 win over Scunthorpe on Saturday. Speaking on the official website, McCartney said, "It was great to come back.
"I enjoyed the previous three or four months here and when the chance came around I was more than happy to come back."

The Northern Ireland international was an ever present during his initial three months loan spell making seventeen appearances for the club and helping them into the play off places.

Unfortunately for McCartney, he will have to watch the midweek FA Cup replay against Arsenal from the stands, as he was not at Leeds at the time of the first game at the Emirates.
