LUFC Michalik departs Elland Road

Leeds United have cancelled the contract of Lubomir Michalik by mutual consent.

The Slovakian international defender was told last summer to actively look for a new club by Simon Grayson and after spending the first half of the season at League One club Carlisle United he has now joined them on an eighteen month contract after his release from Leeds.

Michalik had two spells at Elland Road; he initially joined on loan towards the end of the relegation season of 2006/07 and was then signed on a permanent basis in January 2008.

Michalik made 76 appearances for the club, scoring two goals during his stay.

Glad to see him finally off the payroll. I never rated him when we signed him on loan during our relegation season and couldn't understand why everyone was excited when we signed him full time.

Good luck to him

He seems to be popular at Carlisle, I never rated him always thought he was a liability.
