LUFC Grayson prefers to draw on the positives

Simon Grayson was trying to draw on the positives after Leeds twice threw away a two goal advantage in the home draw with Portsmouth.

Grayson speaking on the official website said, "There`s plenty of positives there. We`re still unbeaten, I was happy with large parts of the performance, particularly the way our wide players performed and the way we passed it around. It`s just frustrating that we didn`t see it out."

Leeds looked to be cantering to an easy victory when they led 2-0 after only ten minutes.

First Max Gradel and then John Howson found the back of the net to set Leeds on the way to what looked another three points.

Dave Nugent gave the away side hope on the half hour when he beat Kasper Schmeichel with a sweet strike but Leeds two-goal advantage was restored when Bradley Johnson volleyed in just past the hour.

The two-goal advantage lasted less than sixty seconds when Andy O`Brien deflected a Richard Hughes shot past Schmeichel.

Leeds looked like hanging on for the three points until O`Brien again put through his own goal after a terrible mix up with Schmeichel.

It was the second time in three days that Leeds had let slip a two-goal advantage after drawing with Leicester 2-2 on Boxing Day after leading 2-0 with less than twenty minutes remaining.

Despite dropping points Leeds are still in fourth place and on level points with Swansea and Cardiff who fill second and third place.

I dont thnk we ever looked comfortable at the back and Utaka's pace unsettled our defence first half especially Connolly. last 20 mins they were getting almost free passage down our left and we were scrambling crosses away rather than clearing them. The game reminded me of the Hull game where we conceded last couple of mins witgh an own goal due to panic.

Got to sort out the defence or it will cost us any chance of promotion. We have already conceded 40 goals in 24 games! We have shown we will nearly always score goals so sort it out at the back. I dred to think, Naylor will be back in contention soon!

40 goals conceded and we are in the top four. Sort out the defence Grayson and we will cruise promotion, if you don't then we will make play offs at best.

should have left headline as "Grayson prefers to draw"
