LUFC Leeds v Portsmouth Head To Head

Vital Leeds looks at the head to head between the two clubs during their histories.

The two sides have met on twenty-six previous occasions at Elland Road with Leeds having the upper hand.

Leeds have won sixteen, Portsmouth five and five draws.

Despite their poor record at Elland Road over the years, Portsmouth have won on their last two visits.

The last time they met was during the 2003/04 season when Leeds were relegated from the Premier League.

Yakubu and Lua Lua gave the visitors a 2-0 lead; a late consolation from Ian Harte from the penalty spot for Leeds couldn`t save Leeds from slipping to a defeat.

Portsmouth caused a shock in the sixth round of the FA Cup in 1996/97 when the Championship side beat Premiership Leeds 3-2.

Last ten meetings at Elland Road (League unless stated)
1962/63 Leeds 3-3 Portsmouth

We were a defeated team before we started in 2003/4. The players had given up.
