'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Opposition fans view from QPR

Vital Leeds finally caught up with a QPR fan willing to give a fans view of our players in Leeds 2-0 win over the league leaders on Saturday.

James Gordon made the trek up the M1 from Northamptonshire to watch his team lose their first away game of the season.

Goalkeeper

Schmeichel 6

I regard Paddy Kenny and Kasper Schmeichel as the best two keepers in this division. Kenny may have let two in but without him, I think we would have conceded two or three more.

We never really tested Schmeichel all afternoon, he had two easy saves to make and that was about it.

Defence

Connolly 6

We never really tested him all day down the left hand side. It was probably his easiest game of the season.

Bruce (Replaced 10 minutes)
Not really on the pitch long enough to make any impression on the game.

Collins 6
Hulse beat him in the air most of the game but there was no one there to pick up the pieces for Rangers.

McCartney 6
Another one who we never really put under any pressure during the game.

Midfield

Howson 7
Looks like the midfield is built around him and he`s allowed to roam.

Johnson 7
Can see why clubs are interested in him, he got stuck in and usually started off the Leeds moves.

Kilkenny 7
Did well in the middle and had a good scrap with Derry. The one thing all your midfield was guilty of though was backing of our main man Taarabt. It was a good job for Leeds that Taarabt was having an off day.

Snodgrass 8
He gave our defence a very hard time all afternoon. He was involved in most of Leeds good play especially in the first half and he set up the first goal.

Forwards

Becchio 7

He works hard, usually on his own up front. Kenny made two great saves to deny him from scoring.

Gradel 8
Wasn`t sure if he was in midfield or attack? Seemed to help out Becchio up front and scored both goals. He should never have been allowed to get as far as he did for the second goal, our defending was shocking.

Sub
Bromby 7
Understand that he`s hardly been playing this season. He seemed to fit in ok and another defender who had a fairly easy day.

Summary
I had tried to erase this game from my mind quite quickly so it was painful trying to think about it again four days after the game.

If you can play like that for the rest of the season, you have a good chance of promotion.
We have gone off the boil and I am very concerned at the moment, the last two games have both ended in defeat and I think they have been coming as we have been riding our luck a bit.

Thanks James for the report, can`t believe I bumped into a QPR fan at the end of my road who gave me your details to get the report.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I am already looking forward to coming to Rangers for the last game of the season.

Can't believe I eventually managed to get one. Was walking home from town yesterday morning and a car pulled up with two lads with QPR shirts on getting out of it. Chanced my arm and spoke to them, neither went to the game but they knew somebody who did. Thanks to them for their help. As much as I am grateful for your scores and comments I think you are being harsh on our defence and keeper who never gave you a sniff all afternoon. Looking for someone from Leicester to do one and would also like a Leeds fan to do me one. Put a message on the Portsmouth board for next week but haven't had a response yet. I did one on the QPR forum on Sunday, I must admit its quite difficult when you don't know who all the players are.

A good report, but only giving Kasper, Collins, McCartney a 6 a bit harsh...Midfielders and strikers about right, and saying Becchio playing up front on his own is right...The couldn't Handel Gradel...

Very gracious report there - but I agree the defenders scores were a bit harsh seeing as they are the reason Kasper was never tested. Does seem we got em just as our game has hit form and their game has deserted them - no way they would be in 1st place if thats how they usualy played - felt good to get one over on Warnock though (I have hated him for 3 or 4 teams before he went to QPR) so if ur reading Neil "I'll show you 4 bas passes an-all"

Like the Manager no credit for Leeds not allowing Q P R to play, Taarbat didn't get a look because we stopped the supply and closed him down quickly when he got possession

A good report on a good new feature. I dont have a real problem with his marks for our defenders as their midfield lost the plot and never gave him a chance to assess them. A line in another QPR fans report summed them up " they turned up in gloves and played like tarts".

Anybody know any Leicester or Pompey fans who are going to our games over christmas? Struggling to get anyone from the opposition for these.
