LUFC Parker - I'm feeling good

Ben Parker is glad to be back playing football for Leeds United after a nightmare sixteen months out through injury.

Parker continued his comeback when he completed another ninety minutes in a behind closed doors friendly with Rochdale on Tuesday.

The defender has started just two games in the past sixteen months and needed to be substituted in both through injury.

Parker has now completed a number of games for the reserves and behind closed doors friendlies in the past few months and is feeling good.

Speaking on the official website, Parker said, "I`m feeling pretty good in myself. Over the past month I`ve felt as good as I have felt in a long while."

Parker as been allowed to come back at a steady pace over the past few months with George McCartney enjoying a three month loan spell at Elland Road from Sunderland.

With McCartney due to go back to Sunderland at the turn of the year, Parker should be ready to fight for a first team place with Federico Bessone and the versatile Andy Hughes at left back.

Great to see Parker closing in on a return. A fully fit Parker is y far the best left back we have at the club and he also helps out in attack with his marauding runs. He will be a little nervous after so long out injured but with McCartney at Elland Road, Grayson isn't rushing him back.

He will have a job pushing out McCartney if he stays as SG doesnt change winning teams very much even if a link in the chain isnt working too well. As we saw last weekend with bromby though things can change very quickly with injuries and suspensions.

Will be like a new signing, glad to have Ben back finally

I haven't been that impressed with McCartney recently and he's been at fault for quite a few goals. The last two goals we have conceded at home against Bristol City and Palace have come down his wing. He got on totally the wrond side of the player against Bristol and fell over.

Get him back in the side, I cringe at the thought of Bessone back in the side.
