LUFC Grayson: Beyond what I could have hoped for

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says that to be in second position going into the Christmas is beyond anything he could have hoped for.

Leeds, who only returned to the Championship this season after three years in League One, moved into second place on Saturday when they defeated league leaders Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road.

Grayson is still looking for enough points first to ensure safety in this division but he is shocked by just how much they have achieved so far this season.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "To be in the automatic promotion places at Christmas is beyond what I could have hoped for.
"There is an expectancy level at this club but I don`t think anyone expected us to be where we are at this time."

Leeds are now unbeaten in nine games and have won their last three on the trot.

This all comes after a disastrous run that saw them lose four out of five games including home defeats to Preston 6-4 and Cardiff 4-0.

Since the Cardiff result Leeds haven`t looked back and have claimed twenty-one points from a maximum of twenty-seven.

Leeds have been further boosted by the news that leading goalscorer Luciano Becchio as signed a new three and a half year deal and go into Christmas in great spirits and great form.
