LUFC Becchio hoping to fire Leeds to Premiership

Luciano Becchio was delighted to sign a new deal with the club until 2014 when he signed a new three and a half year deal at Elland Road and is now hoping to spearhead the club to a return to the Premier League.

With Becchio out of contract at the end of the season, Leeds fans feared another Jermaine Beckford scenario where he was allowed to run down his contract before leaving on a free.

Becchio though showed loyalty to the club (take note Beckford) that has shown him great support since originally joining in the summer of 2008 after a successful trial.

The Argentinian is the cult hero of the Elland Road stands and his appreciation of the fans was a factor in his decision, speaking on the official website he said, "I`m very happy to sign the new contract and stay at the club.
I love the fans, we are doing well, and want to get to the Premier League. I want to be part of that, and I`m really pleased"

Becchio is closing in on a personal land stone at Elland Road as he is just two short of fifty career goals at Elland Road in 126 appearances.

Great that Becchio singed a three year contract...And it wont be long until he gets the two goals that will make it 50 for him and I'm sure there's plenty more to come...And glad that Becchio will be with Leeds when we do go up...

If anyone deserves Premiership football at Elland Road its Becchio

I still can't believe he's commited his long term future to Leeds, expected it to drag on like Beckford.
