LUFC Burnley v Leeds Head to Head

We take a look at the history between the two sides at Turf Moor ahead of this weekends clash.

The two sides have met on 24 previous occasions with Leeds enjoying the slightly better record. Leeds have won ten, Burnley nine and five draws.

It will be the first time the two sides have met since the 2006/07 season when Burnley claimed all three points in a 2-1 win.

Burnley scored twice in two minutes halfway through the second half through Gifton Noel-Williams and former Leeds player Andy Gray. Leeds scored a late consolation goal through David Healy.

Leeds last league victory came during the previous season when they claimed a 2-1 win.

Gareth O`Connor had given the home side the lead on the hour but two goals in four minutes by Eddie Lewis and Rob Hulse earned Leeds all three points.

The last time there was a draw at Turf Moor was back in the 1973/74 season when they shared the points in a 0-0 draw.

Leeds have suffered a few heavy defeats, in 1923/24 they were beaten 6-3, in 1928/29 they lost 5-0 and in their championship winning season of 1968/69 they were on the wrong end of a 5-1 score line.

Leeds best win came during the 1931/32 season when they won 5-0.

Leeds have only ever failed to score on four occasions at Burnley and have managed to keep ten clean sheets.

Leeds have a good record at Burnley and generally manage to find the back of the net, whilst they have a great record for clean sheets. Hoping for a clean sheet first and foremost.

Amazing that we lost 5-1 the year we won the title, If I remember rightly we put six past them at home.

Yep I went to both matches and we were well and truely trounced over there. They had a decent set of young players then and on their day gave a few people a footballing lesson. Revenge was sweet at ER.

It's about time Leeds gave Burnley a bit of their own medicine Leeds have only ever failed to score on four occasions at Burnley hopefully it wont be five come Saturday and Leeds can put a couple away...
