LUFC Grayson - We got our rewards

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson finally felt his side got their rewards after a hard fought 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday thanks to two late Luciano Becchio goals.

Speaking on BBC Radio, Grayson said: 'We started the game well but their goalkeeper was in outstanding form and we got done by a sucker punch.
'Our fans demand that we keep going to the very end and that is what we did. We finished the game with four or five centre forwards on the pitch, had a really good go and gained our reward.'

After dominating the first half, Leeds were caught on the counter attack on the stroke of half time when Neil Danns found himself unmarked to tap in for the visitors.

Leeds had already had two goals ruled out for offside as well as a host of good chances as the found visiting keeper Speroni in inspired form.

Palace almost doubled their lead on the stroke of half time, Schmeichel superbly denied Ambrose from a free kick on the edge of the area.

The second goal always looked like being the decisive goal as Leeds continued to be denied by Speroni whilst at the other end Danns had a couple of chances to double the lead.

With just under fifteen minutes remaining, Grayson had played all his cards and was almost playing with five upfront.

It started to look like being one of those days in front of goal until Becchio scored twice in two minutes to finally break down the Palace resistance.

Billy Paynter almost made it three in stoppage time but Leeds had already done enough to claim the points and move back into the play off places.

The win makes it seven unbeaten now for Leeds and the results against Palace and last weekend at Reading show just how much the sides fortunes have changed since October when the club couldn`t buy a result, especially at home.
