'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Grayson - Leeds lacked attacking spark

Simon Grayson was happy to come away with a point and a rare clean sheet as Leeds stretched their unbeaten run to six games.

After an uneventful first half, Leeds had to stave off a late Reading onslaught to hold on for a point as Kasper Schmeichel and the defence stood firm.

Speaking on Radio Leeds, Grayson said, 'My players put their bodies on the line and our keeper made some great saves.
'It was our first clean sheet in 11 games but we didn't have the attacking side that we have had in recent weeks. We didn't really test the keeper.
'I don't know why it was missing in the final third. Sometimes you lose your spark or maybe it's good defending by the other side."

Schmeichel made two great saves during the second half to firstly keep out a Ian Harte free kick and then a late effort from Sean Long that was luckily straight at him.

The midfield that had done so well for Leeds in recent way games failed to spark as they rarely threatened the Reading goal.

Leeds best chance came in the final minute when Jonny Howson saw his twenty yard left foot shot tipped away by Federici in the Reading goal.

We really did look lacklustre on Saturday. The big difference this time is where we would have got beat everytime earlier in the season this time we battled to a draw and a clean sheet.

I will be interested to see if he changes anything in midfield next week as the area was very weak in this game.
