LUFC FA Cup draw details

The draw for the FA Cup Third Round will take place this Sunday evening with Leeds United being ball number 20.

The draw will take place at 6pm on ITV1 and will be made by two rock singers, Noel Gallagher from Oasis and Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian who will pull out the balls for the most anticipated draw in domestic world football.

The minnows of League`s One, Two and any remaining non-league sides are all hoping for a glamour tie against one of the leading Premiership clubs.

It`s the first time since 2007 that Leeds have entered the draw at the Third round stage.

Leeds produced the shock of the round last season when they won 1-0 at Manchester United thanks to a solitary goal from Jermaine Beckford.

They eventually went out in Round Four. They held Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane, before losing the replay 3-1.

The third round ties will take place over the weekend of 8th and 9th January 2011.

I love the FA Cup third round draw, I can remember when I was a kid running home on the Monday lunch time to make sure I could listen to the draw on the wireless. They tried to bring back a bit of the tradition a few years ago when they started doing it on a Monday lunch again. Now they have idiots like Gallagher and Serge doing the draw!!
