LUFC Gradel in Ivory Coast squad

Leeds United midfielder Max Gradel has earned his first call up to the Ivory Coast squad for their friendly next week against Poland.

The 22 year old will join up with the squad ahead of their friendly on Wednesday November 17th in Poland.

The midfielder missed the first four games of the season through suspension but as been a key part of the Leeds squad since his return, scoring two goals in twelve appearances.

Gradel is looking forward to joining up with the squad and is delighted to be included for the first time, speaking on the official website, Gradel said, "I am very happy, It`s a big step for me and a new challenge."

Gradel is the third player this week to earn a call up to his national squad with George McCartney (Northern Ireland) and Davide Somma (South Africa) already being chosen.

I actually mentioned after the Coventry game that he looks like he's got his temper tantrums out of his system from last season. Still only 22 and learning. A bit of international football with big named players can only be good for him. Been a good week for Leeds recognition.

Really glad to see Gradel get a call up for his Country...Temper gone and does well when playing chases every ball...And doesnt know when he's beaten...

Needs to improve his delivery into the box, and get his head up. Mixing with a better class of player will help.

He's doing better this season and the defending side of his games as improved tremendously.
