LUFC Somma signs new deal at the club

Davide Somma`s good early season form has been rewarded with a new three year deal at Elland Road.

Somma only signed a new one-year deal at the club last summer after enjoying a successful loan spell at League Two side Lincoln City, where he scored 9 goals in 14 appearances.

The South African born striker made his first start for the club in Leeds next game against Leicester City in the Carling Cup and he opened the scoring with a well-taken header.

Somma is delighted to have signed the new deal, speaking on the official website, he said, 'I'm delighted to sign. When I came here to try out and I never imagined I would be in this position.
'Last season I thought I did what I had to do when I went out on loan, and that gave me the extra confidence to come back here.

He brought his form at Lincoln back to Elland Road and he scored twice in his first game of the season, when he came on as a second half substitute against Millwall in August.

He made his first start for the club in Leeds next game against Leicester City in the Carling Cup and he opened the scoring with a header.

Somma has been a regular starter in the side since but as been on the bench for the last two games after a change of formation to the side by manager Simon Grayson.
