'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Grayson delighted with display

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was delighted with his sides display after making it three away wins in a row when winning 3-2 at Coventry.

Speaking on Radio Leeds, Grayson said, "It was a good team performance and you have to win matches in different ways at times and this was one of those.'
We showed a lot of character and desire to make sure we won the game. We knew we had to fight and scrap but we had to try and play when we got possession of the ball and the first two goals typified that. We played with a lot of confidence in what was a fantastic atmosphere.'

Leeds found themselves 2-0 up at the break after Howson`s fourth goal in two games and a Robert Snodgrass super strike.

Coventry pulled a goal back early in the second half before Max Gradel gave Leeds a two goal cushion again when he scored from the spot.

That was short lived as Coventry quickly got within one goal again.

Despite enjoying much of the play in the final quarter the Coventry attack lacked a killer instinct in front of goal with Jason Brown hardly troubled.

The win takes Leeds back into eight place in the Championship just one point outside the play offs.

Leeds now have two home games in the next week against Hull City and Bristol City and will be hoping to find the same home form as they have away having lost their last three home games.

I thought first half we was outstanding all over the pitch, carving out chances with some excellent passing whilst at the back we was covering everything with the midfielder doing more than there fair share. Second half we allowed them to come onto us a lot more and we need to start being more composed when we have the ball. There is no need to just hoof the ball up field. Its only going to come straight back at us.

Another great away win now we need to start doing it at home. We have two home games this week that really should be six points but we've already dropped points to Preston and Leciester. Whats happened to fortress Elland Road?
