LUFC Paynter scores in friendly win

Billy Paynter continued his comeback when he completed 90 minutes and scored a goal against Sunderland.

The striker scored from the spot in a behind closed doors friendly against the Black Cats at Thorp Arch.

Leeds put out a strong side in a 3-2 victory that also included Ben Parker who also completed another 90 minutes.

Both will now be hoping for a place in the squad, for the weekend trip to Scunthorpe United.

Max Gradel, Adam Clayton and Ramon Nunez who all featured in last nights defeat to Cardiff also started.

Adam Clayton got Leeds back on level terms after falling behind, before Paynter scored from the spot and a Andy Robinson goal made it 3-1 to Leeds.

Starting eleven
Alnwick, Hughes, Bromby, Bessone, Parker, Kilkenny, Paynter Clayton, Gradel, White, Nunez

Paynter and Becchio up front on Saturday

When Paynter and Parker return it will be like having two new signings. We need something to give us a boost at the moment.

WHAT ABOUT BRINGING BACK ANDY ROBINSON?

I have been amongst those who joke about the pieman and his fitness but reports are saying he is doing well in the reserves and these freindlies. Does anyone know what his fitness is like?
chuffinnora21
Pieman would be down the wing and straight to the van for a Pukka pie
Tiny T
Lets hope he can now keep fit. We could do with an extra dimension up front.
King Billy
