LUFC Fans view v Middlesbrough

PaulJ82 is again in the hot seat for the away win at Middlesbrough and gives us his views on the players performances.

Paul also has the added bonus of having a fiancée who is also Leeds mad and a fellow season ticket holder, who went along to the Riverside as well.

Here are Paul`s views.

Nicola and I had a great day out and to come home with a cracking result put the icing on the cake.

Here is my view, had a few beers so if you think I am slightly wrong feel free to comment, enjoy the read.

Brown 6
Not much to do, commanded his area well.

Connolly 7
Glad he's back, steady player, got forward well and linked up well with Snodgrass.

Naylor 6
Did a sound job really but he still worries me. I don't know why but he won't pass to any of our keepers.

Collins 6
Lucky not to give away a penalty. Again didn't do to much wrong.

McCartney 7
Linked up really well with Watt until they both went off injured, I like having attacking wing backs. Hopefully his injury is not bad and we can keep him longer. After putting this up, I have heard he was sick.

Watt 7
This guy is awesome, hopefully a summer signing. Took a dirty challenge and went off injured, while he was on the pitch he got forward really well.

Faye 7
The holding midfielder we've been waiting on, I thought although he made a few mistakes, he was steady and had a solid game.

Howson 7
He had a decent game, only thing that let him down was some wayward passes. Overall though looks like he will grow in this league.

Snodgrass 8
We really have missed this guy. Got forward really well and worked his socks off.

Somma 8
Beckford?? I believe he is better only thing he hasn`t got the same pace but he's a really top striker, great to see him get a goal.

Becchio 9 Star Man
Awesome yesterday The goal took a flick off Jonny but I doubt the keeper was stopping it as it was hit with real venom. English still not sorted having heard his post match interview but he looks like he might be growing in this league.

Substitutes

Hughes 6

Didn't do anything special or nothing bad, formed a decent left side with Johnson.

Johnson 7
Looked solid as we expect and worked his socks off at the end when we was under pressure.

Bromby
Glad to se he's back, not on long enough to really mark.

Summary

Overall our support was awesome again, Boro`s was non existent!
When we changed the left side, they caused us a few problems but three more points to the tally.
One point off the play offs and no need to worry about not getting in them, I feel.

Not a long journey home makes it better also.

Thanks for your comments Paul.

Good report as per usual...Agree with all your marks and I'm glad Connolly is back too, liked the way he held the ball up to run down some of that 5 mins injury time...

Think your spot on, thought the midfield did well, especially Watt before going off, Snodgrass seemed to be everywhere and great to see the holding midfielder finally!

Thanks for the report. Agree with most but thought Faye was better than 7 and Howson worse than 7 (no better than 5 for me) but otherwise very happy with the display.
erni
I have to agree about Faye, thought he was excellent in the middle whilst Howson kept giving it away.
