LUFC Grayson We deserved to win

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was delighted with the response made by his side after back to back defeats before the international break and felt they deserved to come away with all three points.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Grayson said, "It`s a big result to come to one of the favourites for the division in pre season, to come here is a big ask for us but we responded after back to back defeats and we`ve come away with three points, which I think we deserved."

Grayson marked his 100th game in charge of Leeds United and will celebrate after strikes from Davide Somma and Luciano Becchio clinched a 2-1 win.

Leeds looked the hungrier from the off, against under pressure former Leeds favourite, Gordon Strachan`s Middlesbrough side.

Leeds took a deserved lead inside fifteen minutes when Davide Somma notched his 7th goal in 9 appearances this season.

They were dealt a blow in the first half when first, George McCartney went off through illness and then Sanchez Watt went off after being on the wrong end of a poor challenge.

Boro equalised early in the second half through Kris Boyd but Luciano Becchio capped a final personal performance with a stunning volley with just under half hour remaining to claim the points for Leeds.

The win moves Leeds into ninth place and they are now just one point outside the play off places with home games against Leicester City and Cardiff City coming up.

Still a few things to do at the back, thought Naylor had a better game but was still at fault for their goal when he switched off long enough to give Boyd a yard start and that was enough for the goal.

Much better team performance and lets hope that larry sees that watt gives us something extra when he is fit. I thought Faye had a good game controlling the middle of the park like king kong in boots. His injury didnt look good though. I thought the defence played well but Howson needs to stop losing the ball overplaying in our half.

I thought we played well but Boro were a very poor team.
