LUFC Naylor hoping for win on return to Ipswich

Leeds United captain Richard Naylor is hoping for a recall to the starting line up on Saturday when he travels to his old club Ipswich Town.

The central defender has been on the bench for the last three games since the 5-2 defeat at Barnsley in September, but after another disastrous midweek performance, he could be back in the starting line up.

Naylor spent fifteen successful years at Portman Road with the highlight being to help them qualify for Europe, when they finished fifth in the Premiership in 2001.

Naylor will not have mixed emotions if he plays on Saturday despite his long connection with the Suffolk club and will be hoping for a Leeds win. Speaking on the official website, Naylor said, "Going into the away dressing room will be strange, but you take it like any other game. It`s about us getting a result and putting Tuesday behind us."

The Leeds born defender made over 300 appearances for the club before joining Leeds, the team he`d supported as a boy in 2009.

Whatever has been said about Naylor this season (most of it deserved) he would not have allowed Parkin to bully him into submission like our central defenders did on Tuesday.

No he'd have just headed a couple into his own net.

I think Naylor will be back in. If he can't raise his game at his former club then he never will do. I think if he plays he will play really well.

Hopefully Naylor has bought himself plenty of Mr Sheen to keep the benches around the country well polished

I hope Naylor gets a recall...He has a point to prove and if he does get back into the team I'm sure he'll play a big part and give his all...He wants to play so much and prove he can do a good job...Esp against his old team...
