LUFC Michalik back at Elland Road

Defender Lubomir Michalik has returned to Elland Road to assess the injury he picked up whilst playing for Carlisle on Tuesday night.

The big Slovakian defender suffered a hamstring injury in the sides 4-0 win at Hartlepool United and will be assessed by the Leeds medical staff over the course of this week.

It was a mixed night for Michalik, he opened the scoring for the with an superb strike from 40 yards to give the visitors the lead before going off injured just past the hour.

Michalik was told he had no future at Leeds by boss Simon Grayson in the summer and joined Carlisle on transfer deadline day until the New Year.

The Slovakian international has made five appearances since joining Carlisle at the end of August and the side have kept four clean sheets and moved up to third in the table since his arrival.

I think he's now showing at Carlisle what regular first team football can do for you. I would have got rid of some other central defenders before him.
