LUFC Leeds match history September 25th

In a new feature on Vital Leeds we will be taking a look back at the clubs record on their next match day.

Leeds next match will be on September 25th against Sheffield United at Elland Road.

It`s the first time Leeds have played on this date since beating Newcastle 3-2 in 1999 thanks to goals from Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell and Michael Bridges in a Premiership encounter at Elland Road.

I felt dirty writing the names of two of the goalscorers againts Newcastle

The 1971 game at Leeds Road against Huddersfield was almost an home game as we were having to play our home games there at the time due to getting banned from playing at Elland Road after the Jeff Astle goal for West Brom saw a pitch invasion.
