LUFC Faye completes Leeds deal

Amdy Faye who has been having a trial at Thorp Arch has signed a short term deal with the club that will keep him at Elland Road until early in the New Year.

The 33 year old has spent the past week on trial and played in the midweek reserve game against Grimsby Town with Leeds boss Simon Grayson in attendance.

Leeds boss Grayson was delighted to make his twelfth signing of the new season, speaking on the official website, he said, "He`s an experienced player who has played at the highest level and he is proven.

"He`s a different type of player to the midfielders we have here and he is a good addition to the squad."

Faye is an experienced midfielder and he has played for Portsmouth, Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic and Stoke City in the Premier League as well as making 31 appearances for Senegal, including two in the 2002 World Cup Finals where they reached the quarter finals.

They have gone for an option I suggested the other day. I think it makes sense, gives us a good chance to make sure he stays fit and just how he does in the role we needed. He now completes the side in a defensive midfield area we needed.

option you suggested ? - the guy is a hundred and fifty four years old - we were never gonna give him a five year deal lol - this was always gonna be a deal till end of season (and you never know he could end up earning a second - even if he was on a zimmer frame he would still beat Naylor to the ball)

He's only joined until the New Year which means that Leeds can offload him in January and get someone else in if he proves to be a flop.

Lets hope we get our monies worth, but he's injury prone so we'll have to wait and see.
