LUFC Grayson close to making it the perfect dozen

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has said that he was very close to signing another player before the transfer window closed on Tuesday.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, 'We were close, very close, to bringing in another player, but the deal fell at the last hurdle, which was unfortunate because I thought he would have been a good signing for us.

'But at the last minute he decided he wanted to stay where he was, which of course he was entitled to do.

'We're looking all the time. We're looking at players for the January transfer window so it's an ongoing thing.'

Despite the late setback, Grayson is very happy with the squad he`s managed to put together during the summer.

The Leeds boss has managed to bring in eleven players to the club as they embarked on their first season back in the Championship in four years.

A number of the players are already becoming firm fans favourites with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and midfielder Lloyd Sam especially earning the plaudits.
