LUFC Sam - The side showed good character

Leeds United midfielder Lloyd Sam believes the side showed their character as they battled back to earn a point at Nottingham Forest and get their first point of the season.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Sam said, "After the first game when we lost against Derby, we really needed something from this game. When we went 1-0 down we kept our heads up and we showed good character to get back in it."

Leeds had to whether an early storm from Forest and fell behind inside ten minutes.

It took until halfway into the half before Leeds started to get into the game and shortly before half time Sam nipped in to glance a header past Camp and into the Forest net.

In the second half Leeds looked the more likely winners and Sam continued to be a threat to the Forest defence and felt the side were unlucky to not take all three points, "We dug in and we could have even got a winner in the end" He continued.

The goal is Sam`s second in three games since his summer move from Charlton Athletic.

There was a few not to sure about this lad when we signed him and most Charlton fans said he was rubbish. On the evidence of his first three games and if he can keep this up he's going to prove a brilliant bit of business.

Really enjoying having him and Watt in the side, we need the strong midfielders in the centre though because both Derby and Forest at times had it far too easy.

Had a good game today and did well running through to support Becchio, especially for the goal. SG has done well getting him and Kaspar. Jury is still out on the rest, though Bessone played better that he has done.

I think Connelly has played alright too.
