LUFC Darville joins Tranmere on loan

Leeds United defender Liam Darville has joined League One side Tranmere Rovers on a month`s loan.

The youngster played for Tranmere Rovers against a Liverpool XI on Tuesday night and the Merseyside club have decided to bring him in on loan.

Darville also spent time on trial at York City during pre season and City boss Martin Foyle had expressed his desire to take him to the Kit Kat Crescent.

The 19 year old was loaned out to Rotherham United towards the end of last season; he had to return to Elland Road without making an appearance for the Millers after suffering a head injury during training.

Darville becomes the fourth youngster at the club to go out on loan to gain some first team experience ahead of the new season.

All the other youngstes have gone out for at least six months whilst Darville is only for one month. I wonder if Tranmere just want him for cover or Grayson is keen to get him into first team action at Elland Road and just wanted to take a better look at him playing for someone else for a month. He's got plenty of competition for the right back spot at Elland Road with Connolly, Bromby, Crowe and Hughes all used in that position.

Should toughen him up and Daz has only Connolly and Crowe in front of him in my eyes

The experience will be good for him. It serves York right for not making a quicker decision.

I agree with you Tiny T, why did we not off load Hughes pre season, nice guy but he scares me defending. Bromby ok though
