LUFC Paynter takes over the number nine shirt.

Leeds United have announced their squad numbers for the following season as Billy Paynter takes over the number nine from Jermaine Beckford.

Leeds had six new players to allocate numbers to whilst a few first team players have taken different numbers.

Kasper Schmeichel has taken over the number one jersey from Casper Ankergren who left in the summer.

Paul Connolly has taken over the number two from Jason Crowe, who will now wear twenty.

Neil Collins will wear the number five, Lloyd Sam will be number eleven and Federico Bessone, number twenty-one.

Max Gradel, who wore number twenty-eight last season, will now wear number seven.

Of the four players who were told to actively look for new clubs in the summer, Lubomir Michalik, as been allocated number twenty-four after wearing seventeen last season.

Andy Robinson is to wear twenty-eight instead of eighteen; Alan Sheehan will wear thirty-four after being allocated thirty-two last season.

Of the four, only Tresor Kandol as yet to be allocated a new number after wearing number twenty last season.

The only number of any significance that as yet to be allocated, is the famous number four shirt which was worn by Mike Doyle last season whilst he spent the season on loan from Coventry.
